The first day after reopening Hawaii for tourism, a total of 8219 airline passengers arrived in Hawaii, including 3189 visitors and more counted as visiting friends, getting married.
Of course, this number is not comparable to the 30,000+ average daily arrivals before COVID-19, but this is the first day and up 10-15 times the average arrival when the State was closed and required a 14-day quarantine for everyone arriving.
We speak with Pamela Taylor of Sun Island Hawaii, an inbound DMC about her views on the reopening of tourism to the Aloha State.
